After you tap Start Solar Progress, work through these steps on the Solar Progress screen. Tap a step to open it, complete it, then return to Solar Progress for the next one.

Before the appointment — check it is in the app

The day before each visit, confirm your appointment appears in the app. Do not wait until you arrive at the property.

Open Appointments

Tap Appointments at the bottom of the screen.

Expand the date filter

Under Appointment Date Filter, tap the chevron to expand the filter panel.

Tap This Week or This Month

Under Quick Appointment Filters, tap This Week or This Month — always use one of these to confirm you can see upcoming jobs. The list defaults to today only, so tomorrow’s appointments will not show until you change the filter.

Find your customer

Check your appointment is listed with the correct name, address, and date. If it is missing, contact your team lead before the visit — do not create a duplicate job yourself.
If you only look at today’s list the day before, you may think an appointment is missing when it is scheduled for tomorrow or later. Always tap This Week or This Month to check.

1. Survey

Survey opens first.
  • Most customer details are pre-filled — double-check everything
  • Complete all required fields
  • Add every required photo — installers and scaffolders use these on site
  • Photos must be clear and accurate (roof, fuse board, access, shading, etc.)
  • Save as you go; submit when complete
If the customer does not have an energy bill, say so in the survey. An Energy Bill Disclaimer signing step may appear later in the workflow.
After the survey, open OpenSolar from Solar Progress. Before the appointment, have designs ready in OpenSolar. During the visit you can:
  1. Search by address — find an existing project
  2. Enter the Project ID — from the Manage tab in OpenSolar
  3. Create a design — ideally completed the day before the appointment
After linking:
  • Confirm the design is saved
  • Tap Complete Step if shown
  • Return to the app (Solar Progress)

3. Calculate — choose calculator type

Tap Calculate. You choose:
CalculatorWhen to use
Off Peak CalculatorCustomer has day & night rate, an EV charger, or low usage
Flux CalculatorSingle rate or Octopus Flux customers with higher usage
Then complete:
  • Template selection (system options)
  • Customer details if prompted
  • Calculator inputs (arrays, battery, consumption)
  • System Pricing — review figures before presenting
Present pricing only after you are happy the calculator is correct. If the price is wrong, contact your team lead — reps cannot override prices in the app.

4. Proposal

Tap Proposal on Solar Progress.
  • Generate and review the proposal
  • Present it to the customer in the appointment

5. Solar Projection

Tap Solar Projection.
  • Walk the customer through projected savings and performance

6. Hometree

Tap Hometree on Solar Progress.
  • The app opens the Hometree Finance login page in your browser
  • The step marks complete when opened — you can return to Hometree anytime
When the customer wants to proceed on HT, follow the full Hometree process — including Teams updates and when to tap Won.

7. Contract generation

Tap Contract Generation (Select Contract Sheet).
  • Choose the correct proposal sheet (Off Peak or Flux/EPVS as shown)
  • Tap Generate Contract
  • Review the PDF
Generate the EPVS contract before filling Hometree — contract details feed into the HT application.

8. Energy Bill Disclaimer (if required)

Only appears when the survey recorded no energy bill.
  • Send and complete the disclaimer signing
  • Wait for signed status before continuing

9. Contract signing

Tap Contract Signing.
  • Have the customer sign the contract in-app or via the signing link
  • Confirm signed status before moving on
Tap Express Consent Signing.
  • Send and complete express consent with the customer

11. Booking confirmation

Tap Booking Confirmation Signing.
  • Complete booking confirmation signing with the customer

12. Payment

Tap Payment (Process Payment).
  1. Open your Lopay app on your phone
  2. Take the £500 holding payment from the customer
  3. Back in the app, tap Mark Payment Complete & Continue
Only mark payment complete after the £500 has successfully gone through on Lopay.

13. Book installation

Tap Book Installation.
  • Select an installer from the list assigned to you (reps only see their mapped installers)
  • Pick a date at least two weeks ahead
  • Select 09:00 in available times (required for the booking to work)
  • Tap Book Installation
  • Confirm the success message, then Continue to Next Step
Some installers need two days on the calendar — follow the on-screen installer notes.

14. Welcome email and finish

Tap Send Welcome Email.
  • Check customer name, email, and address
  • Tap Send Welcome Email
  • The app moves you to Finish Appointment

Mark Won or Quote

On Finish Appointment choose:

WonCustomer accepted — files go to Customer Orders 2
QuoteCustomer took a quote only — files go to Customer Quotations
Tap Confirm & Organize Files. You can also tap Won or Quote earlier on the Solar Progress header when the customer decides — see Hometree process for when to mark Won during HT.
